Complete onboarding (user info, professions, job categories, languages, skill levels) to personalize your feed. Manage profile, preferences and notification channels (email, frequency).

What This Feature Does

Onboarding and Settings control your profile, preferences, and notification behavior. Your preferences directly affect your For You job feed.

Key Capabilities

Onboarding (first-time setup)

• User info: First name, last name, country, city, street address

• Professions: Your profession(s)

• Job categories: Categories you're interested in (e.g. IT, Healthcare)

• Languages: Languages you speak and proficiency

• Skill levels: Skill level per category (e.g. Mid-Senior for IT)

• Completion marks isOnboardingDone and unlocks personalized feed

Profile & Preferences (Settings)

• Profile info: Name, location, avatar, social links (GitHub, LinkedIn, website, portfolio)

• Job categories: Update which categories you want to see

• Preferred cities: Cities you're interested in

• Languages: Update language preferences

• Skill levels: Update per-category skill levels

• Public/private profile: Control who sees your job search activity (Feature additions in future)

Notifications

• Email: On/off

How to Use

1. Complete onboarding when first signing up

2. Go to Settings (/settings) to update profile and preferences

3. Adjust Notifications to control how and how often you're notified

4. Changes to preferences immediately affect your For You feed

Best Practices

• Complete onboarding fully for the best personalized experience

• Update preferences when your job search focus changes

• Set notification frequency to avoid overwhelm (e.g. daily digest)
